End Notes:

Not only am I supposed to be belt-free today, I’m also supposed to be playing along with Hanna’s Clue Challenge as Professor Plum. This is a tall order for a preggers lady, so it took a bit of wardrobe refashioning last night to figure it all out.

In some iterations of clue, Professor Plum is an archaeologist with a shady publishing history. To my benefit, I know several archaeologists in my department, so today I’m channeling one in particular who always manages to simultaneously look like she could go on a dig at this very moment while wearing pieces with surprising details like sparkles or ruffles. Personally, I think that a big ruffle around the collar is a feminine twist on Professor Plum’s iconic purple bow tie.

The bermudas were my late night creation yesterday. I thrifted these jeans a month of two ago and I have to admit that I was so desperate for maternity bottoms that I compromised a bit on fit. I decided, however, that they actually fit better as walking shorts than as trouser jeans and their $4 price tag made me confident enough to hack them off and do a quick hem. I know I’ll get a lot more wear out of them at this length, especially with summer approaching. See, even A.’s dog agrees:
