So I’m finally jumping on the red lipstick bandwagon. I’ve been seeing so many beautiful bloggers rockin’ the red lips lately that I finally broke down and admitted it to myself: I wanted in on it too! So I bought my first ever red lipstick this weekend and felt like such a grownup.
Red, originally uploaded by academichic.It took me a long while to decide on a color but then I came home and saw this post on The Rockstar Diaries, in which the gorgeous Naomi, who rocks the red lips as part of her signature look, tells which brands and hues she likes most. Hmph, should have seen this one sooner. But there it is for any of you hesitantly approaching the red lipstick makeup aisle.

I’m embracing the layers this season and trying to find new interesting ways to layer. I’m also really digging tiny bursts of color against neutrals (especially black).

I’ve long been a fan of red lips, especially for evening and weekend. I have really been loving animal prints and floral patterns both separate and together lately.

This is such a beautiful outfit! I’ve been experimenting with red lips lately too. I’ve found that I really like red lip gloss as opposed to lip stick, because the color doesn’t seem quite as over-powering.
