Endnotes:

This week is coming to a close and I’m almost 10,000 words into a novel I had no conception of writing until about a week ago. As always, I’ve found the online blogger community of fellow writers to be extremely supportive and encouraging and it has made being part of this process so much fun. Andrea has just posted a fabulous round-up of NaNoWriMo related posts from all the different bloggers participating this year and taking part in the A Cat of Impossible Colour NaNoWriMo support group.

Yesterday I wanted a really comfortable and cozy outfit since I was spending the majority of the day at home in front of a computer. I pulled out the mohair version of this Wonder Wrap that we received from Blue Onion Marketplace. I think I like the mohair one even more, it’s very soft and cozy and just like wearing a blanket without looking like it. I tied it similarly to how I’d tied the gray jersey one before and it was great for sitting at my computer with my mug of tea and writing away. (I later wore this to a class, and it was great for sitting in a chilly lecture hall and taking notes as well.)  Thanks, Blue Onion Marketplace, for my NaNoWriMoWrap! (I know, I need to lay of the NaNoWriMoNeologisms, but it’s just so much fun…). S.

Congratulations on reaching 10,000 words. And that wrap is fab. I have similar ones in black an dblue and I adore them.
My novel is tunring out to be something entirely different than I envisaged. Every day new charcaters just clmb our of the keyboard and on tot he page. Some I like, others not much but today I just met a few who make me laugh so much. It’ snot fair they are getting all the best lines and they are just bit part players. or are they?

I’ve gotta remember to look back on your sweater wrap posts when I wear my drapey cardis … you have such creative variations on wrapping!

And I’m super bummed that you won’t be there for the meetup, too. We’ll DEFINITELY have to make sure to connect once you return to the states. One of my oldest friends lives in Heidelberg, but I don’t really have a reason (or the dough) to visit him … so I guess we’ll have to wait!

Love the wrap! It looks gorgeous on you!
I’m participating in NaNoWriMo as well. I haven’t had much time to write, but I have gotten just passed 10,000 words. So much more to go! Good luck on your novel!

Woohoo! It’s so exciting when you break into the 5-digit word count! Go you!

This looks great! I love those wedges every time you wear them.

I hope this isn’t too presumptuous to ask, but as someone who finished grad school 1/2 a year late due to prolonged procrastination, I do feel compelled to mention it…from the blog reader’s perspective, you seem to be talking more about your novel than your diss. Is Nanowrimo distracting you from your dissertation? For a long time, I denied to myself that my procrastination was impacting my work but it was. I think it’s important to be honest with yourself. Anyway, I apologize if this is overstepping to ask this. I just wish someone had posed that question to me when *I* was avoiding the diss. I know it’s tough to tackle something so big and other things can seem much more appealing! I probably would have finished earlier and been significantly less stressed about it!

Thanks for the lovely comment! I’m so enjoying watching your outfits etc unfold. I have not broken 10,000 words yet due to work commitments etc BUT have high hopes for this week – some late night sessions at the mac . . .

I always get all confuddled with these cardi-wraps… I never know how to tie them and then the ends slide off and end up somewhere unsavoury but I really like how you tied it up. Secure, cosy and cute… perfect! And if it’s mohair than it’s even more delicious…

I love your wrap! I have a friend who is doing NanoWriMo, so I know it’s a lot of work and huge challenge. Good luck! :D

    Thanks for your comments, everyone!

Lauren – thanks, I know it’s good to get that reminder some time! I appreciate the heads-up, but I actually have still been toiling away at the diss. I’m not writing it yet, I just finished my proposal and it’s now circulating among tenured faculty, so I’m waiting to hear from them. Meanwhile, I get to do some really enjoyable archival research here at the city library, so that’s keeping me occupied.

Maybe tell me that again once I’m a year into it and will likely be looking to fill my days with anything non-dissertation related! Congrats on pulling it together and finishing, from what I’ve seen, a 1/2 year late is still waaaay better than many!

I love that wrap – the versatility, the coziness, the color! Fantastic! And big congratulations for 10,000 words! It’s such an amazing feeling isn’t it? To turn around and not only say, “I did this,” but also, “I did this in ONE WEEK.” I’m excited for you!
