I like that idea! I recently got a free square floral scarf that is too small to wear or tie around my neck, and I’m thinking that using it as a handbag accessory is about the only thing I could do with it. I like how you made yours really contribute to the overall outfit instead of looking like a random add-on.

I’ve been reading for a while and thought I would delurk and say thanks for an awesomely inspirational blog! I taught my first class of the semester yesterday and I was definitely thinking of you all as I accessorized a neutral outfit with a bright green-blue necklace I hadn’t previously thought of pairing with it. Yay! I felt extra confident, which helped because I’m still new to teaching.

Small square scarf: Well for me, because I have short wavy hair, I’d fold it up diagonally and tie it around my head like a headband.

I don’t know if the droopy belt-end troubles you at all; I like to clip mine into place with a bobby pin.

you’ve inspired me to go through my jewelry box as well. any reason to use the phrase “brooch the subject” is a good enough one for me. :)
