Endnotes:

A2 and I are visiting family for an extra long weekend.  We arrived on Thursday night to a full schedule of activities, many of which I don’t partake of on a regular basis.  A family golf tournament was one of these!  My Dad is an avid golfer, so I think not too long after I learned to walk, I learned to swing a golf club.  While this doesn’t make me a pro by any means, I did hold my own in yesterday’s scramble.

I also am well versed in appropriate golf attire.  I don’t wear a polo very often these days but I always have a few well-fiting polos in various colors in my wardrobe.  I usually make it out for a round of nine holes about once a year with my dad and sisters and a collared shirt is required.  What items do you keep in your wardrobe for those once a year uses?

I love your golf attire! You pull it off without looking cheesy, but rather chic instead! My wardrobe definitely has a few dresses that are just too fancy (for me) to wear with everyday stuff, so they come out only at weddings, fancy cocktail parties and the like. For the rest of the year they sit idly in my closet and I wonder why I have them.

I’m with Clare. I’d look like SUCH a poser in golf gear, but you pull it off with aplomb.

  3. Sal says:

Oh, sorry, “poseur.” I always forget that word is FRANCH.

  4. Kimberly says:

Love the pics out on the links and I agree – you look super golf chic!!

  5. Jessica says:

Actually, this gives me an opening to ask you all a styling question: how does one style a polo off the golf course?

I ask because I have two, the colors of which I love, but they are a bit bulky (JCrew doesn’t seem to do fitted?) and look messy untucked, but a bit too preppy tucked into pants. Thoughts?

  6. Diana says:

I’ve never been an avid golfer, but you definitely have the look down without being too campy.

The piece in my wardrobe that comes out once a year is also the polo shirt. Every year we have a work tornament and I always scramble beforehand (b/c I can’t repeat year after year) to find a polo that is golf-appropriate yet still me.

  8. Bunny says:

You look so smart and chic in your golfing outfit! Do you think it helps your golf game? If so, I’m going to copy your look!

  9. [...] I sported a white polo for a little golf outing a few weeks back,  reader Jessica asked how I might style a polo off the course.  Well, here you [...]
