One of the things I love about summer weekends is the chance to go treasure hunting at the local garage sales. T. and I both love a good bargain, so we print out a list with all the sales, grab our coffees and go exploring. Today I took my handy little basket tote along to stash my finds. I got this basket tote in an unabashed attempt to copy A., who uses a cute red basket for her trips to the farmer’s market. This blue and white checkered number will be my hold-all for market trips and garage sale adventures this summer (and was a steal for $2.50 at the Target Dollar Spot).

So, did you find anything on your garage sale adventure? Garage sales are one of the best things of summer….
I got one thing and I’m excited to show it soon! Stay tuned for a post on turning things from trash to treasure ;)

I love your dress! I haven’t been garage sale shopping in forever. I need to make a point of going again sometime.
What a sweet dress!
I’m amused because I just picked up the same bag (in pink) to hold a gift for a little girl’s birthday party. I liked the idea that a gift bag could be pretty but also functional/reusable for more than just presents.
Kari, what a great idea! I agree, these would make great reusable gift baskets and cost about as much as a nice gift bag would! I’m sure the little girl loved her new basket that came with her present!

WHAT the world makes this a cute “outfit”????
Blue gingham plaid DOES NOT GO w/ small red/pink floral print!!!!!
I’m willing to overlook teh black sandals because they’re not obtrusive or distracting, but they, too, are wrong unless there’s some black in that dress!?
Girl, didn’t your mother or anyone teach you how to match up your clothes & what ‘goes’ w/ what?
I’m so tired of seeing people fling things together that JUST do NOT go together! Even trying to blend fabric weights & seasons into an outfit is being done & I think it looks hideous! Each to his own I guess but it’s just tacky to me.
