Happy Birthday, T! Today is my fiance’s birthday and since he left for a weekend camping trip with his friends earlier today, we celebrated with an early morning breakfast date. It was warm and sunny by 7 am already, so we took his MG for the drive to the restaurant. Incidentally, T’s 1979 MGB LE (a restored historic British car) shares his birth-year, so it’s celebrating a milestone year as well! Happy Birthday, you two cuties!

Since it was a breakfast date, we both dressed pretty casually and I opted for this simple jersey dress that’s a great day-time LBD. I spruced it up with some pretty purple beads and matching bracelet and, in keeping with this week’s challenge, finished the look with a pair of patterned flats. And, of course a pair of oversized sunglasses, which are as essential to a ride in a convertible as is sunscreen and the ability to quickly and efficiently restyle your hair every time you reach your destination (knowing that with each additional trip you get closer to having a rat’s nest on your head rather than an actual hair style…but it’s well worth it!) S.

u look so pretty…cute printed flats

  2. What a fabulous car and what perfect shoes to wear in it.

If I have my way today I won’t actually put on any proper shoes at all, but will remain snugly in my slippers. Miserable baby last night does not equal much enthusiasm for dressing up and going out today…

Happy birthday to your fiance! You both look great!

I love your necklace! Also, I laughed at your comment about hair after driving in a convertible. My husband & I recently rented a convertible on a trip (it wasn’t that much more than the base price) and after learning my lesson once, I always wrapped a silk scarf around my head after that to control the hair craziness — over the head and under the chin that is. It’s the kind of look that looks silly outside of a convertible but IN a convertible (especially with glam sunglasses), it looked awesome. I highly recommend it. :-)

WOW amazing car! And really cute shoes :3
all you were missing for the convertible ride was one of those headscarfs hehe

Yesterday was my birthday too! (1981, though, I’m a little younger.) Happy shared Birthday to T!

Incidently, my niece, best friend, and favorite co-worker all share my birthday as well. I am of the highly biased opinion that people born on May 21st unequivically rock. Including Plato, Dante, and Mr. T (the guy with the chains, not your fiance.) We’re in good company!

  7. S. says:

Thank you, all, for your nice comments and the bday wishes! T. is going to love them when he gets back from camping and sees the post.

Sarah, it sounds like you are more than right to assume the awesomeness of people born on the 21st! I really can’t argue with that! ;)
