It’s graduation weekend for my youngest sister-in-law, so we’re heading to Houston to celebrate. I’m staying there a few days longer to be nicely pampered by my in-laws with activities on the docket such as:
- Shopping for organizing supplies for the baby’s room
- Getting some sun
- Eating good food
- Having my hair cut by my favorite stylist in the whole world
After a really stressful, busy semester I felt like I needed a little geographical separation from my university and even my still-recovering-from-finals-week house. So even though Houston is not the most glamorous of vacation destinations, I’m terribly excited to be with family and unwind a little.
This year I’ve decided that travel-style is good practice for mommy-style. A cardigan, a jersey dress, and a pair of flats to keep my toes warm and I am ready to either sit for hours in an uncomfortable plane seat OR be spit up on. Either way. Like I said yesterday, machine-washable elegance is my new style mantra. Just let me keep my colors.
