End Notes:
For those who may be wondering if our closets offer up an endless supply of new clothes, the answer is, “Nope. Especially not E’s.” As my belly has grown, my closet has shrunk. But — at least for now! — it’s a fun challenge to see how I can remix my wardrobe of both pre-preggers and new maternity duds into new outfits. The three main items of today’s outfit have all enjoyed multiple showings in the three months that we’ve been blogging.
The navy jersey dress is invaluable for its neutral color and its forgiving stretch. I’ve used it lengthen a shorter hemline, worn it under a purple cardigan, and packed it as a comfortable piece for traveling.
The magenta cardigan is especially useful since it’s has no closures. I’ve worn it open and belted. Either way, it’s proven to be a surprisingly versatile color for being so bright.
And the shoes. I love these patterned flats and would argue that they go with just about everything. I’ve worn them to mix patterns, to save an otherwise boring outfit, to travel in, and to add a little modern edge to a retro look.
Finally, I seriously think that Megankills is my dress combination muse. Look at how she rocks fabulous frocks for daytime! I am definitely channeling one of her color combinations today.

How cute are you? I love this color combo, giving me many outfit ideas!
Navy and magenta is one of my ALL TIME FAVORITE combos. Throw a little orange in there and call it a day.
I love the beautiful, bright colors you’ve got in this outfit, as well as your oh-so-sassy smile.
Fantastic color combo! As for your flats ~ I think you are right. They do go with everything!
It seems like you try to hide your belly. I think there is nothing more feminine than a baby belly, you should show it off!
@Sal – Ooh, orange?! I’m going to have to try throwing that in next time.
@Kerri – Actually, I love my bump and I couldn’t be more thrilled that I’m showing more now! As I’ve mentioned a couple of times in my posts, the camera doesn’t always tell the truth, especially when it comes to my belly. And, as you’ll see in our upcoming series on proportions, one of the features I’m trying to play up is my baby bump. So while there’s definitely a learning curve, rest assured that I am not purposefully trying to conceal it!
I love the belt – not only the style but the colour contrast.
