On this second day of our pattern challenge week, you’ll notice that my prints have crept closer together, now separated only by the blinding white flash of leg. I’m trying out the “stay in the same color family” approach — green, blue, and white patterned flats and a green, white, and brown mini-floral skirt — and I’m a fan of how the sort of “square starburst” motif in both prints also helps to tie things together.

Only after I was dressed in a predominantly green ensemble did my husband point out that today is St. Patrick’s Day. So though I now feel a little gimmicky, I’ll dedicate this outfit to my favorite Irish lass, A., and be grateful that I am pinch-proof.

That outfit is so cute! I think my favorite part is actually the jacket, because the darker color seems to balance things out.
