I’m pleased to report that my lightly packed carry-on bag for this past weekend’s Colorado wedding was a wise choice. Not only did I have enough to wear — and the flexibility to make a few changes on the fly — but I had enough space to hit up a Super Target and bring home some new maternity duds. I may need to make this an official part of my packing mantra: always pack light enough to go shopping.
Saturday also marked the 22nd week of being preggers. It feels a little surreal to say that I am five months pregnant! Here’s the gratuitous belly shot:

This coming weekend I will be out of town yet again, this time for an academic conference where I’ll be giving a paper. My bag will look pretty different this time around, since I’ll need several days’ worth of professional attire. So check back later this week for another round of packing pictures and let me know if anyone has a wrinkle-proof method for packing suit jackets.

hi there
a while ago, I stumbled upon your blog (thanks to already pretty, if I remember correctly) – great work and great inspiration!
for wrinkle-proof packing of suit jackets, check out – this guy has a whole range of very creative ideas of useful packing. although he’s definitely not on the dressy side, you should try his way of bundling up your stuff:
I haven’t tried it so far, but it looks pretty logical!
keep up the good work!

I can’t believe your five months preggers. You look fantastic! I agree with the mantra of always leaving enough room in your suitcase for some shopping. Clothes and accessories make the best souvenirs!
Oh yes, always pack for purchasing! Was this adorable dress part of your Colorado haul?
Thank you, ladies.
@t. – The link does not seem to have come through, but I am so intrigued by its promise. Could you perhaps e-mail it to me?
@Sal – The dress was a pre-Colorado purchase, but I saved it for a big “premiere,” as A. likes to say, at the wedding.
U look wonderful!!
Great preggers pic, you look fab!
