Endnotes:
This outfit has a lot going on – perhaps a bit too much for my tastes. Like E. and S., this will by far be the most challenging module yet. I made a list of my patterned items and it was very short – mostly pinstripes and patterned scarfs. I’m not sure if lace or faux snakeskin count as patterns but they certainty add to the busyness of this ensemble.
I think the old tip about taking off the last item of clothing added to an ensemble might have served me well today – the green flats? Or maybe I should have take off the first item – the lace cami? Oh pattern mixing…

For the record, I LOVE it. Stripes with a vertical plaid seems like an ideal pattern mix to me.
I don’t think it comes across as too busy at all! I really like the various patterns, textures and colors. Then again I live with the motto of “The only thing that separates us from the animals is our ability to accessorize” (from Steel Magnolias vs. Coco Chanel with her “When accessorizing, always take off the last thing you put on.”.
I think the mix comes out nicely. Not too busy, but not too boring either.
the plaid scarf caught my attention.

I don’t think it looks too busy at all, in fact I really like it. Honestly I didn’t even notice the scarf was plaid at first! I was too busy noticing the great color of the T, and the really cool pinstripe skirt!
BTW, your pup is adorable!
I think this is a great combination, it doesn’t seem to busy at all, in fact I’m thinking up an outfit of my own like this, you’ve inspired me!!
This is super lovely. Earthy and summer-like at once. Except I’m freezing looking at you. I will definitely mix patterns this week too (but with much warmer clothes).
I don’t think its too much at all. The patterns are so subtle. I really like this one.
Thanks everyone! I really like the paring of skirt and scarf too and am coming around on the addition of lace and snakeskin thanks to all of you!
Cassie and Bluerose – let us know if you mix any fun patterns this week!
A
great pattern mixing without getting loud!
