Endnotes:

Today did not start out too well. I received an unpleasant email to be dealt with, while already feeling more than busy having to finish off a funding proposal by noon.  Both of those being unforeseen tasks adding to my already crazy workload this week. On top of that, A. and I are running 17 miles this afternoon for our marathon training, so I knew I had to get my work stuff dealt with by then. Spring “break” (aka work-from-home-week) cannot come soon enough!

But here’s what helps me when I’m having one of these days. Dressing like I Mean Business. Feeling like I look pulled together and professional helps me exude that confidence and efficiency that I may not even be feeling. If my appearance can fake it for me, then I can start owning some of that attitude and getting through the day with more oomph behind my actions. So take that, crappy email and unpleasant issues to be dealt with!

Poor A., she’ll be hearing a lot of this over the many miles we have to cover tonight… S.
