End Notes:

Between a visit and estimate from a contractor, teeth-gnashing computer issues, and trying to recover from a late night of reading, getting creatively dressed this morning was low on the priority list. And this is where Fashion 101 saved the day. I started with the basics of a tee, jeans, and boots, but instead of picking a neutral accessory or eschewing accessories altogether I spun my mental color wheel and grabbed this green scarf to make an analogous combination.

Being more self-conscious about mixing up the colors in my wardrobe proved valuable in my time of style need. It’s hardly a life-changing outfit, but I went out the door feeling put together enough to recover from a harried morning. And isn’t that what personal style is all about?

The boots and scarf totally make it a top-notch outfit! Love the colors and chic-casual look.

Great look–can I plagiarize it? I have a solitary gold tee and a gorgeous scarf that’s got all kinds of greens and blues in it. Never thought of putting them together before seeing this outfit, though.

    Thanks, ladies.

emm, in this instance plagiarizing would be perfectly acceptable! If you try something similar, send us a link to an image of your outfit and we’ll be sure to feature it on academichic in the near future! – e.
